We are going to make that hammer! First, a non comprehensive list of materials:
- PVC pipe in length of your choice
- Plexiglass
- Silicone caulk
- Plastic rose
- Red LEDs
- Soldering supplies (solder, iron, wire, ect.)
- Fishing line
- PVC primer and glue
- Worbla
- Battery stuff
- On/off toggle switch
- Misc bits of pipe
- Instamorph or similar
- Plastic primer
- Paint
Unfortunately, if I took pics of these steps, I deleted them.
Now, set that aside and let's build the hammer. Make a paper pattern for your large panes. Cut out of plexiglass.
In one piece, cut out a hole the diameter of your PVC pipe. If the glass splinters, drill tiny holes at the end of the splintering to stop it from spreading. Glue in your handle. Make sure to use primer on both inner and outer, and glue on both inner and outer. Shove into place quickly, the glue dries fast.
Using silicone caulk, glue the sides together.
Measure and cut out the ends of your hammer. Set aside. Hang the rose inside using fishing line. Make sure to feed the wire down through the pipe.
Test you rose and make sure it works! Fill pipe top with silicone, the glue on your small sides.
At the bottom, cut wire to length. You don't want a bunch of excess. Attach on/off switch and battery. Create battery pack. Make hole for switch. My battery pack has a hole for the switch, but it was too close to where my hand would go, so I moved it up the handle.
Attach.
Use worbla to cover imperfections. Ditto with instamorph.
Once satisfied, prime and paint.
And you're done! If you have any problems or questions, feel free to ask!
